Oleh sebab itu, demi mendorong pemberdayaan dan terpenuhinya kebutuhan hidup kelompok wanita milenial serta mendukung program pemulihan ekonomi nasional dan program vaksinasi yang tengah berlangsung, HerStory.co.id dan juga Warta Ekonomi ingin memberikan penghargaan setinggi-tingginya kepada para produk dan layanan dari merek serta perusahaan terbaik di Indonesia yang telah berupaya sebaik mungkin dalam membentuk kelompok milenial khususnya perempuan menjadi bagian penting dalam kemajuan bangsa Indonesia dan terus berkembang terlebih di masa-masa sulit seperti ini.

"Sejatinya peran perempuan itu tidak hanya fokus pada pengembangan dirinya sendiri maupun keluarga, tapi mereka juga berperan terhadap pembangunan masyarakat bahkan negara. Dengan begitu, perempuan semestinya diberikan ruang serta peluang sebesar-besarnya untuk terlibat dan berperan secara langsung dalam pembangunan masyarakat ekonomi bahkan negara. Terlebih lagi, perempuan milenial memiliki potensi yang sangat besar di era digital ini," kata Clara Aprilia Sukandar, Pemimpin Redaksi HerStory dalam pembukaan acara penghargaan HerStory Indonesia Millenial Women Brand Choice Awards 2021 "Beyond Inspiring and Connecting" yang diselenggarakan secara virtual, Kamis (19/8/2021).
"E-awarding kali ini HerStory mengusung tema Beyond Inspiring and Connecting karena HerStory percaya bahwa perempuan milenial ini dapat terus berperan dalam pembangunan negara. Untuk itu, HerStory berharap perempuan milenial terus bersemangat, terus bertransformasi, serta meningkatkan kapasitas dirinya," papar Clara.
Data tentang populasi perempuan di dunia pada tahun 2020 menunjukkan, populasi perempuan di dunia ini berada di angka 49,6%. Jika dilihat dari data jumlah penduduk berdasarkan kelompok umur dan jenis kelamin ternyata pada tahun 2020 populasi perempuan milenial ini yang berada di angka 25 hingga 40 tahun memang bisa dikatakan paling banyak dibandingkan dengan populasi perempuan di kelompok umur yang lainnya.
E-awarding kali ini tim riset HerStory dan Warta Ekonomi menggunakan metodologi penelitian survei secara daring dengan 1.500 responden yang merupakan pembaca setia HerStory yang berdomisili di Jabodetabek. Survei ini juga dilakukan selama bulan Juli 2021. Ada pula yang menjadi indikator penilaian, yakni reputasi publikasi serta advertising.
Hadir sebagai Keynote Speaker, Angela Tanoesoedibjo selaku Wakil Menteri Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif RI mengucapkan selamat kepada para pemenang penghargaan dan juga memberikan semangat untuk para perusahaan untuk terus berinovasi di masa pandemi Covid-19.
"Selamat atas terselenggaranya HerStory Indonesia Milenial Women Brand Choice 2021, Beyond Inspiring and Connecting. Semoga pemberian apresiasi ini dapat menambah semangat kepada brand-brand Indonesia untuk terus berinovasi dan melihat berbagai peluang di era digital ini sehingga dapat terus memberikan layanan dan produk terbaiknya kepada generasi milenial khususnya perempuan," ujar Angela.
Angela juga memaparkan bahwa hampir setengah penduduk Indonesia adalah perempuan dan dari 133,54 juta perempuan Indonesia, sekitar 25,87% tergolong milenial dan 49,7% adalah pengguna internet.
"Jumlah konsumen perempuan milenial yang besar dan terus berkembang ini adalah potensi yang dapat mendukung berkembangnya usaha lokal di Indonesia. Apalagi dalam kondisi pandemi, belanja online menjadi sebuah pilihan yang tak terelakkan sehingga beradaptasi dengan digitalisasi menjadi suatu keharusan bagi para pemilik usaha dan brand di Indonesia. Kemenparekraf dalam hal ini berkomitmen untuk mendukung pengembangan sumber daya manusia dengan program upskilling, reskilling, dan entrepreneurship di sektor pariwisata dan ekonomi kreatif," imbuh Angela.
