The 2 AGLP Scholars Attended NYU Stern School of Business
The 2 AGLP Scholars , Nasha Jungkankul (ABA 2017 winner in SME Excellence–Growth category) and Sirina Sisombat Hervy (ABA 2017 winner in Women Entrepreneur category) attended a 5-day ASEAN Global Leadership Program (AGLP) in NYU Stern School of Business from 16th-20th April 2018. They joined a group of 40 leaders from both the private and public sector in the ASEAN countries.
The week-long program comprised class room lectures, company visits, panel discussion, and business networking event. Topics covered by the NYU Stern faculty included Global Economy and Trends, the Agile Organisation, Disruptive Innovation, Blockchain Technologies, Big Data Analytics, and Strategy: Creating & Capturing Value.
The participants also visited Pinterest and Barclays Bank to hear the first hand insights of an 8-year old startup like Pinterest versus the challenges of sustaining a 350-year old Barclays Bank. They also attended a business networking event hosted by the American Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and US ASEAN Business Council where they met the New York based business community.
Both AGLP scholars found the program timely and useful in preparing them to address their challenges as SMEs gearing up to expand their business to become a bigger domestic player with the ambition to be a regional firm. The 2 AGLP scholars were interviewed upon completion of the program and sharing their insights about the program as contained in the video.
