PT Mitra Stania Prima (MSP), a subsidiary of Arsari Tambang, has reaffirmed the transformation of Indonesia’s mining industry toward greater sustainability by winning the highest award from the Indonesian Ministry of Environment—the Proper Gold Award—on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
This award recognizes MSP’s success in implementing environmental management that goes beyond compliance standards, supported by social innovation and the adoption of sustainable operational practices.
Arsari Tambang’s CEO, Aryo P. S. Djojohadikusumo, stated that this achievement reflects a fundamental shift in how the company conducts business—making sustainability the core of its strategy, not merely an obligation.
“We don’t just want to meet standards; we aim to exceed them. The most tangible impact felt by the community is the increasingly cleaner air quality. This is part of our commitment toward net zero, with no air or water pollution,” said Aryo on Tuesday (July, 8, 2026).
As part of this transformation, MSP aims to use 100 percent renewable energy at its smelter facilities in the near future. This step marks a significant milestone in driving a lower-emission and globally competitive tin processing industry.
“We are moving toward the full use of renewable energy at our smelter. This is not just a technical target, but a long-term commitment to the environment,” added Aryo.
MSP is not only expanding its transformation in the downstream sector but also in the upstream sector. Currently, MSP’s mining units have achieved a Green PROPER rating and are on track to advance to a Gold PROPER rating through the implementation of zero-emission heavy equipment and the electrification of production processes. Aryo emphasized that the cornerstone of all these efforts is integrity.
“We are doing this not merely for the sake of awards, but as a commitment to not pollute the environment. Integrity is a non-negotiable principle,” he stated firmly.
This Gold PROPER achievement further solidifies MSP’s position as an industry player capable of integrating business growth with environmental sustainability. Moreover, the transformation being implemented also brings tangible benefits to the community, through a healthier environment and improved quality of life.
In addition to MSP receiving the Gold Proper award, Aryo also received the Green Proper Leadership award, which was presented directly by the Indonesian Minister of Environment, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq.
