Indonesia Inaugurates Pavilion at COP30 to Showcase Climate Action

The inauguration was led by the Presidential Envoy of the Republic of Indonesia for Climate and Energy, Hashim S. Djojohadikusumo,marked by the cutting of a traditional Indonesian “tumpeng” rice cone, symbolizing gratitude and unity. The first portion of the tumpeng was presented to Minister of Environment Hanif FaisolNurofiq, witnessed by the Envoy’s spouse, Anie H. Djojohadikusumo and distinguished guests.

The ceremony was attended by Vice Minister of Forestry RohmatMarzuki, Indonesian Ambassador to Brazil Edi Yusup, and delegates from various countries, international organizations, and non-state actors.

In his remarks, the Presidential Envoy emphasized that the Indonesia Pavilion serves as a platform of soft diplomacy complementing Indonesia’s formal diplomatic efforts at COP30.

“This Pavilion is not merely an exhibition, it is where ideas meet action, and where collaboration turns ambition into tangible outcomes,” said Hashim.

He reaffirmed Indonesia’s principled stance at COP30, guided by equity, common but differentiated responsibilities, and respective capabilities, and its commitment to bridging global ambition with real implementation.

Indonesia continues to enhance its climate ambition through the Second Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) submitted in October 2025, with increased emission reduction targets toward achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2060 or sooner.

Additionally, two new Presidential Regulations No. 109/2025 on Waste-to-Energy and No. 110/2025 on Carbon Economic Value,mark the foundation of a reformed and high-integrity national carbon ecosystem, open to global participation and projected to mobilize up to USD 7.7 billion annually in climate finance.

“Indonesia aims to become a leading global hub for high-integrity carbon markets that deliver measurable climate impact, create green jobs, and strengthen community resilience,” Hashim stated.

The Indonesia Pavilion at COP30 serves as a collaborative space bringing together government institutions, academia, the private sector, civil society, and youth, showcasing Indonesia’s innovation and leadership in advancing global climate action.
